Do you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?

With 2017 quickly approaching, consider using your FSA for your health and wellness needs.

What is an FSA?

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to have more control over where your health care dollars go without having a high deductible. A FSA can be part of your benefits package set up by your employer and allows you to use pre-tax dollars for eligible medical, dental and vision care expenses that are not covered by some insurance plans.

How does it work?

Like a 401K retirement account, an FSA is a special account that allows you to contribute pre-tax dollars into an account to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care costs for you and your family. Some employers may make contributions to your FSA, but are not required to.

At the end of the calendar year, or the grace period provided by your employer, you forfeit any money left over in your FSA. So it’s important to plan carefully!

With 2016 coming to an end, if you have a FSA, consider using it on your health and wellness needs at Aspire Health & Wellness to care of those aches, pain and nagging injuries. Call 858-254-5433 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Boaz Ritblatt, Doctor of Physical Therapy.
